AWWWWWWW. I love the ending to this chapter. I love House's cute little conversation with Isabella, and I especially love that some of it takes place in Spanish.
This is my favorite chapter so far! Looking forward to more!
Thank you so much. I really enjoyed writing this chapter - I had the last line written first, so the whole chapter had to be retrofitted from there. It was an interesting experience to write backwards :-)
>> Loved this line: I hope they’re not digging up your foundation So Houselike. <<
The line is taken from real life :-) When my son was four he had a friend over one day, and the two little boys spent the day disappearing around the corner of our house and coming back with rocks to pile under a bush. The friend's mother and I were sitting in the garden while this was happening, and she turned to me and said "I hope they're not digging up your foundation". Her delivery was very funny, and I remember it like it happened yesterday. Those two boys are still good friends - they're both twenty now :-) Time flies!
I saw on your LJ that you ride a Vmax. I thought of you when my husband and I were in Halifax, NS last week. We attended "bikers' circle" at the Marina, where my husband had a good time admiring a lovely 2006 Vmax, and talking to its owner.
What a great picture of you and your son! He looks adorable. Happy Birthday to your 4-year-old, and if he disappears around the corner of your house with a shovel and a purposeful look, it's probably a good idea to follow him
