So I've been dreaming about playing more music a lot lately. However, I haven't really performed "in public" since I left Philmont in 2003. I found out that there is an open mic every Monday at a coffee shop in downtown Mountain View (mere minutes from my apartment). I checked it out last week. Awesome! I might be in Santa Cruz this weekend. If so, I'll go check out your open mic.

I didn't get the license plate. It didn't occur to me that they wouldn't stop and I was a little delirious after the crash.

I'll be in Santa Cruz on Sunday! Maybe we can meet up.

The open mic is on Monday nights from about 7 to 9:30. It's at the Red Rock Coffee Company in downtown Mountain View.

As for the accident, I propose
#7. The person did not have a license
and
#8. The person was driving a stolen car.

My vote for why the person dashed after the car accident is
3. The person had a metric butt loads of drugs stashed in the trunk.

I am sure it is the least probable, but you used the phrase "metric butt load" and the whole idea is quite amusing in my head.
