I'm trying to get the second half of this novel plotted so I can dive back in on Ni90, and what do I discover?

My backups to RW disks?  GONE.

Praise be for Yahoo Briefcase, or I would be totally screwed right now, and not in a good way.  I am usually really lax about updating to there, but evidently I did that right before the restore

Whoa... yesterday I had a writing back-up near-disaster too! I was REALLY upset because I was 100% certain I'd lost one of my works-in-progress, as the floppy had died and I'd not yet saved it onto a CDR. But I had it in My Documents on the hard drive, so I was able to get it back. Whew! That was a close one. But up until I found it, I was truly freaking out. I saved the past five or so projects that I started since the last time I converted everything to CDRs last night, so as to avoid another catastrophe in the future. =)

I am starting to be very wary of removable storage media. I keep toying with the possiblity of a jump drive, but then I see how much they cost and wonder if they're any better.

Thank goodness we didn't end up having to set our hair on fire or anything due to lost work, lol.

Yikes. Glad it wasn't lost! And a good reminder to me to make some more back ups...
