+ This episode gave me a lot of feelings: some of them good, some of them heart wrenching, and some of them extremely full of rage. I want to warn people before reading this that if you’re a squeeful person who does not want their squee harshed, please don’t click the cut. This review is full of meta and is kind of epic in length, I apologize in ( Read more... )

THERE IS SO MUCH RAGE, FAM. Like, I couldn't even be sad about Jenna's death at first because I was SO FULL OF RAGE. NOTHING WAS BEAUTIFUL AND EVERYTHING HURT.

I FINISHED READING YOUR POST AND UGH I KNOW ABOUT EVERYTHING YOU WERE RAGING ABOUT. I feel the same way as you about everything except when it pertains to Damon and Elijah, BUT EVERYTHING ELSE IS FLAWLESSSSSSSSSSSSS

EVERYTHING IS HORRIBLE. I WANT JEREMY TO GET HIS SOUL BACK. And I just have complicated feelings about Damon and Elijah. I STILL LOVE THEM BOTH, but Damon needs everyone to hate him for a while, especially Elena and I can't really blame Elijah because of the family thing, but also I know the writers only made him do it so they could have Klaus the Werepire in next season to be the bane of my existence.

Your Jeremy thoughts are so golden! And thank you so much for voicing exactly what I had trouble articulating about why what Bonnie did bothered me so much. Jeremy has a history of that being done to him. Not only that, Bonnie had Jonas take away her agency earlier in the season, and she knows how that felt and STILL she did that to Jeremy. I ship them, but that moment had me side-eyeing them. I desperately need Jeremy to get mad at her next episode.

Did Bonnie have time to argue? Jeremy wouldn't let up and they needed to go save ppl. She couldn't waste time. Hello two ppl were already dead.

HE CARRIED ELENA’S BODY OVER TO STEFAN, TOOK OUT THE STAKE OUT OF HIS BACK, AND I TEARED UP. HE PUT THEM TOGETHER BECAUSE THEY’RE HIS TWO FAVORITE PEOPLE AND THEY SHOULD BE TOGETHER.

What else… OH, RIGHT, HOW ABOUT EVERYTHING WAS HORRIBLE AND AWFUL AND IT WAS ALL FOR NOTHING BECAUSE KLAUS GOT AWAY? *frustrated sob*

I also hate how removed Caroline is from the main plot. <--- Seriously, wtf? Did she not know what was going on ( ... )

THIS. To this entire entry, bb.

Jenna's death still makes me raaaaage so much because it was a million different kinds of unnecessary and sexualized and it was just a fucking power play by the writers. Like, oh, look, here's this human woman who has found out about vampires but she's not a doppleganger so we're turning her into a vampire and OH WAIT, HERE, WE'LL SACRIFICE HER TOO NBD. NO ONE IS SAAAAAAFE.and that makes me so upset because the emotional repercussions of that are going to be hidden underneath next episode's Damon manpain arc.

Ugh, I'm so angry.

And YES YES YES to ALL your Jeremy thoughts and especially that picspam because WHERE IS THE ANGER. WHERE IS THE PAIN? NO ONE IS THAT COMPOSED.

And especially YES to that werewolf bite Rose dead, Damon saved thing. Because I loved Rose and her death was awful but inevitable and when they cure Damon's bite, it's just showing that Rose wasn't worth the effort of finding a cure. Which... fuck everything.

I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL. I was so emotionally exhausted after writing it that I physically felt tired. MY FEELINGS, THEY EXPLODED ALL OVER THIS. And I keep finding things I missed that I wanted to talk about.

You know, I actually agree with you about Jeremy, he probably is full of resignation about his life at this point, but I think my worry that if the reaction is not immediate, it'll never happen and this is just an easy way for the writers to get out of writing emotional repercussions again.

Yes, THAT. Exactly what you've said here. Any piece of fiction should be driven by the main characters and their actions and the consequences of their actions, their problems and their life, but here it's like things happen to the characters and they keep happening and no one has any time to react, or even talk to each other. I honestly don't get it. Especially when they used to be able to handle that (before they decided to be ~bigger and badder~). I think the writers like to say that everyone dies (because that's what they keep saying in ( ... )
