Solitary vs. isolation

I love reading the blogs of some of my favorite authors. Neil Gaiman, Catherynne Valente, and Theodora Goss tend to rank the highest so I try to go through most of what they write. Behind them I look towards Patrick Rothfuss, Ellen Kushner, and Terri Windling as well (but only when I remember, haha).

Talk about a thought-provoking entry. I strongly prefer to go to movies and concerts alone because I can lose myself in the sights and sounds more easily. Traveling? I just discovered this last weekend that while I like the actual process of getting from one place to the other by myself, it's tremendous fun to meet a friend at your last destination and chat for a few hours.

Then again...having adventures with a good friend is *the best*. I still remember going to Nagoya and buying my Yoshikitty with you! =^_^=

About those European cities...hrmm, is it possible to go on Facebook or some SNS and find someone to show you around for an afternoon? The locals will probably know all the interesting places not listed in the guide books.
