One of the most beautiful songs I know is by Mikis Theodorakis, a Greek composer born of the island of Chios. He's most know for his "Zorba the Greek" movie music, but he's also composed lots of choral and operatic work, fusing Greek folk tones with the classical tone of the west. Think Carmina Burana gone Greek

The two last verses seem almost like the result of a machine translation to me, they make so little sense.

I agree! It's either a machine translation, or a dictionary translation... (meaning looking up word for word, without any coherence). A pity, because I would like to know what the ending of the song is. I need to fnd me some Greek friends... :P
