of Frozen

Saw Frozen yesterday. I'll have to see it at least one more time to understand everything that was going on. Especially since we saw the swedish dub - which (of course) does not have any subtitles - which usually helps me a tiny bit more to keep better track (although I still would have had to repeat viewing it at least once more to completely ( Read more... )

I haven't seen Frozen though I've certainly heard of it and my daughter Katie (and her boyfriend) loved it. Will likely get around to seeing it one of these days on Netflix when it comes out. I'm not a big fan of 3D movies and we supposedly have excellent theatres to show them including iMAX. I'm not impressed with the effects - they're aren't that many first of all in the films and they don't make me go 'ahh awesome!' - it's more like my vision seems a little off ... lol. When we can we always opt for 2D.

I know right?
What I've encountered in 3D so far has not impressed me. The pictures gets sort of chopped off at the edges of the screen that I'm sure was not originally intended because it looks awful. But the worst is that there is only focus on the thing you're 'supposed' to look at and everything else goes a bit blurry. I'm one of those people that tends to drift my from watching the actor (for example) and instead watch something that interests me in the background (like another actor that is off in the background, or simply looking at how a house is built or how the angle of the camera shows off a certain aspect of the background or stuff (because I love clever filming and can go a bit crazy about camera angles haha)) so obviously that drives me completely insane and actually destroys a lot of the movie for me *sighs heavily*
So yeah... Totally prefer 2D. But it's getting rarer *frown* some films has been almost impossible to catch in 2D if you want to see it on the big screen.

*laugh* first of all; it certainly wasn't only you. Second; I'm totally aware how tumblr works and if it was terribly important I would stay away or turn on that filter-thinge on the 'frozen'-tag or something.
So no worries!
