I miss you :(
If I were coming home for Christmas, we'd have to hang out. But I'm not. So we'll just have to pretend.

omg i'm jealous that you saw retribution gospel choir AND low. i just picked up the retribution gospel choir album on vinyl, and a new low 7". also jealous that you saw tv on the radio and the notwist. but i got to see sigur ros this year, so i'm not jealous of that. :P

don't be too jealous of rgc. we planned poorly and only made it in to see two and a half songs. they played at halifax pop explosion a couple weeks earlier and my friends were going wild about the gig so i was extra excited, and then i missed so much. yar. i picked up their album so i could get the ep that came along with it, but they didn't have any vinyl so i had to buy it on cd and i was super annoyed by that.
the notwist were pretty much the best thing ever. EVER.

grrrr... when jess and i were in montreal to see okkervil river last month, the notwist were playing the same night, around the corner (andy went to the notwist show, and raved about how great it was). not that i regret seeing okkervil river for even a microsecond!

i haven't even had the chance to listen to the rgc or low vinyl i bought last weekend, i've been so busy.

last year when we saw okkervil river, one of the opening acts - damien jurado - did a cover of low's murderer, and it was awesome. i love low (and by extension, just the concept of rgc, let alone the music. i mean, sparhawk and kozelek... it boggles the mind).

damien jurado, good? i've seen posters around town for an upcoming gig of his.

okkervil river were playing here a couple of weeks ago, but it was the same night as omg and i didn't want to miss that. they come through here fairly often though, so i'm sure i'll get another chance to see them. only problem is every time they come through i always have other things going on.

sounds like you are having so much fun!!! but ouch, that tuition is a killer!

i am also going home for a month and i'm really excited. it's weird, the older you get, the more you appreciate your family and hometown.

i have been having a lot of fun lately. it always seems to be one extreme or the other with me here.

when do you get home? how's your placement going? i've not caught up with you in so long! you should let me know if you have any free time coming up in the next week or whatever and maybe we can have a sweet phone date.
