As far as the first part, it's all about survival of the fitest. Sounds horrible, but it's true. No reason to go out of your way in either direction. He will be what he wants to be as will anyone else.

Piano is great, but if you really loved it you wouldn't of ever stopped... I guess what i'm trying to say is don't push yourself into things because you think they are good. Do what makes you happy, and if it can help things by doing so, great. If not, oh well. I'm not a veg cause it's good thing to do, i'm a veg because it makes me happy. You dig?

now, about the keeping up with world events.
i watch the daily show and colbert report every single night and i know more about whats going on in the world than most of the kids in my school.
i do not need to read the paper, or watch the real news.
just watch something that gives you the facts, then jokes about it. makes the news fun :-D
