Helter Skelter is so good, but so upsetting.

Upsetting? Yes. Well written enough to be comprehensive but not boring? Also yes.

(Basically, ITA :P)

Anywho, what are your favorite true crime stories?! Which killers and/or criminals fascinate you the most?

The Black Dahlia.

Did you ever watch the movie?

The one with Hilary Swank and Josh Hartnett? No. I heard the film wasn't that great, so I skipped it.

I haven't seen it either...I heard bad reviews so I skipped it too.

I developed my fascination with true crime in a cliche way - a high school fixation on Dahmer. Gacy was next, and then Bundy...pretty much the ones I could find books about in my tiny little local library.

You know you have a problem when you've "always wanted to kill someone"

OMG, that is so messed up. Ugh, and the little girl tried to protect her mom. :( So sad.

Reminds me of 15 year old Alyssa Bustamante, who murdered her 9 year old neighbor last October because she "wanted to know what it felt like." I'd like to say, "Kids these days!!!" but it's been going on forever. (Mary Bell, anyone?)

Oddly enough I was just talking about the Mary Bell case earlier today.

I donno about 'favourite', but recently I read up on the Concrete Girl murder and it disturbs me horribly.

Three Men One Hammer thing also made me ill.

I didn't know who the Concrete Girl was until I searched, but UGH yes, I've read about that. So sick.

It's been adapted into comic form, and it's horrific. It follows the testimonies of what those three did to her. I felt really ill afterwards.

Note that it really made me ill, though.

Aw, the file can't be found! I'm very curious now, even though it'll probably make me sick, too, LOL.
