Best Trek costume?

There's nothing like waiting til the last minute to buy your Halloween costume... and that's what I'm doing.  Any suggestions for the best Trek dress (either old-school or new-school)? I know there are a lot of Trek uniform costumes out there, I was just wondering if anyone has any suggestions as far which brands fit better, if certain ones suck, ( Read more... )

I've been eye-balling blue Spock dresses on eBay for the past two Halloweens . . but they all start at $40 and are usually too small. .

I made a lady Spock outfit last year from a black skirt, two shirts (one black one blue) and a homemade science officer pin. . .and ass-kicking knee-high boots of course.

It is possible to buy it, but it seems to be very, very expensive. I made mine myself, and it still cost a pretty penny. But they're certainly my favourite uniform too!

I used the official patterns, but I had to modify them quite alto - they were immensely unclear about alot of things, and the sizing was strange.
And thanks. :)

Sorry to bring it up. :/ For this uniform, though, it's worth it. So is.

Looks great! You said it came with pips? So, were they "real" pips or just colored fabric on the collar?

I got this one: http://img.costumecraze.com/images/vendors/rubies/889060-Deluxe-Adult-Star-Trek-Blue-Dress-Costume-main.jpg

And I must say it's pretty nice.
BUT: (I bought an S, I believe) The sleeves might be a bit too short, and the dress is pretty short itself. Oh and the collar is a bit weird. And the curves in the pictures are photoshopped, because it's not that fitted.

Still, I'm happy with it, haha. I fixed the collar a bit and the rest I can live with. :D

I bought this one: http://www.buycostumes.com/Star-Trek-Secret-Wishes-Red-Dress/65045/ProductDetail.aspx

It's nicer than I was expecting, but it's definitely going for the 'cleavage plunge' look. Not entirely sure I'm comfortable with that yet...I bought it pretty quickly without doing too much research.

It fits large, I ordered a size smaller than my usual, and it fits pretty nice! Perhaps a photo after Halloween (I've been learning how to do an authentic beehive to compliment the costume! :D)

thanks for your input... I'm considering that one along with the 2009-movie-version. After Halloween, we'll definitely need a photo post with all of our nerdy pics :)
