I wonder how they're going to write Sam out for a couple episodes

I don't think they can write Sam totally out of any episode, but probably cut down his screen time like in 'The End' where Jared only has to be on set for like, one day.

Just from other spoilers I've seen, if they do lessen his screen time, I'm thinking it'll be because Hell has finally burst through and taken him down to a, as Jared said, "non-functioning" level. Sooo, maybe some Desperate!Dean episodes?

While I completely understand time off for baby, I'm bummed that the SPN storyline might be affected. I (very selfishly) want my Sam'n'Dean time, especially at the end of the season!

yes, but what can we do. i'm kinda bummed about it too, but i'm happy for jared anyway. and at least he's still willing to come back for another season if it comes, which is great! and probably a big sacrifice from him so a little time off is nothing. it could be much, much worse.
