While I completely understand time off for baby, I'm bummed that the SPN storyline might be affected. I (very selfishly) want my Sam'n'Dean time, especially at the end of the season!

yes, but what can we do. i'm kinda bummed about it too, but i'm happy for jared anyway. and at least he's still willing to come back for another season if it comes, which is great! and probably a big sacrifice from him so a little time off is nothing. it could be much, much worse.

It actually made me kinda happy. I know he's committed to the show, however long it goes, but I'm glad he's taking time off with the family. It does mean less Sam time, but I know the writers had to have been aware he would be taking time off when he had his kid, so I'd expect that they planned out how to do it back when they announced the due date. *shrugs* I have no idea why this is the one thing I have faith in the writer with, though, lol.

you're right. i'm not saying i'm pissed at him or anything, because i'm not. getting time off because of a baby is totally understandable, and i'm happy for jared and gen.

and i think it's remarkable he's ready to do another season, even with a little kid. i can imagine lots of other people just quitting to be with their families :)

For Jared, his word is his bond. He doesn't break when he says he'll do something, even if something like this comes up. It's gotta be massive to make a guy like him choosing to leave the show. I mean, both of the boys have very strong senses of loyalty(just one of their many, many, many admirable qualities), and so I don't see either leaving unless show is cancelled or their no longer wanted.
