oh god I am so glad my tweets were turned off and I didn't find the yt vid that way. I would have died. that is so much sadder than the press release statement. ;________;

Yes thank god I saw the announcement first in the previous _skating post. For me the saddest part is him feeling like he's disappointed us. (Since I was expecting a full-on retirement, this is actually an upgrade for me, though it's still sad to actually hear it.)

same here. I was expecting retirement too. IDK which is worse, him officially retiring now or saying he'll come back and then not.... :/

I am mentally translating this into a band-aid ripping I AM NOT COMING BACK for my own sanity.

That way if he comes back 2011-2012 it will be a delightful present.

yes. I cannot handle a year of will he or won't he. I'll die. Low expectations are the key to happiness!!!!!!!!! (ok, that was far too many exclamations for such a sad post)
