Btw yes your spanish is correct, he said that and this not a random spanish site, this is a very well know spanish newspaper site. I don't think such a well know spanish site will put other words specially from someone to their own country.

This is very much along the lines of what Jeremy Abbot said before the Olympics as far as I remember (there was a post on _skating) a while back.

And yeah, rather than violent homophobia I honestly think the both of them just don't get it.
