COLORADO SPRINGS - Evan Lysacek said Friday his training is going well. He is tweaking programs to figure out what mathematical permutations certain elements will give him, depending on where he places them in the program.

While he still is not ready to commit to competing at Skate America next month, Lysacek has decided the 2014 Olympics is his ( Read more... )

The video of his quad and new combo he posted on twitter a while ago looked really good. Just saying.

I know. If he still has it, why not compete. The more competition, the better.

I'm with you there, as always (yay for being Evan fans in this community, lol.)
I hope we see him in the GP too, because I've been pumped up for that since June and it sounds like his training is going well.

It really hope he does the GP series-it seems like he is being cagey about committing to it, but I hope he does. Based on the videos and such, it seems like he is not only returning to what he was doing, but is trying new jump combinations and things he never has before. Its good that he is expanding what he is trying rather than saying as long as he gets back to where he was, he will be fine.

Being cagey, trolling, yeah ... he's trying not to get our hopes up too much. Even though they've been up since the list was released.

Even though it's risky to ever agree with Frank, I'm inclined to agree with what Frank said a few months ago; something like 'Of course he'll do it because once he's made up his mind this much to do it, he goes through with it'. So, while I'm more nervous now about a withdrawal from Evan, I think it's probably a safe bet to say we'll see him at Skate America. Probably.

I'm glad he's expanding too -- he'll be ready to match the competition from the other men who didn't take the season off.

Do not use a piece of terminology like "permutations" when you obviously do not know it means. Please.

Evgeny Plushenko, belittled Lysacek’s gold medal performance at the 2010 Olympics

However, I see that the writer had certainly no problem playing little tricks of connotation with words like "belittle" (instead of the more neutral "criticize", say).

But then again, I clicked on the link and saw it was Mr. Hersh, so I suppose belittle would be a word whose meaning is more familiar to him.

TOO TRUE! Agreed all the way.
