Glad I woke up at 7 and then went back to bed at 8 and woke up at 11 for once. I usually tune in. Guess everyone on my Twitter feed was spared my raging.

Joking about murder is mad. Talking about the rape of women like survivors are usually lying and trying to use it as a justification to keep us from having control of our bodies is OK.

So, Newt, when are you going to tell people to stop with all the death threats they're making against Obama?

I absolutely agree with what you're saying, but I just need to tell you that (oh hai, ADD!), I initially misread that last sentence as "...death threats they're making against otherkin."

Ahahahahahahahahahaha, well, I suppose since death threats in general are bad it still applies. XD

Unless we're talking about hipsters. Like, ironic racism gentrifying hipsters.

Also, mimes. And clowns. Mostly clowns.

Because Newt is deaf to all those death threats? They are occurring against Obama so they don't exist.

Have Akin's poll numbers bounced back or something? Is it time for establishment Republicans to start supporting him again, despite the shit that he said? Ohhhhhhh anything to get a Democrat out of office huh?

And srsly, Karl Rove, what the flying fuck?

He's actually, disgustingly, running nearly even with McCaskill, which is just.... Horrifying.

My stupid state.

The firm released a poll last week that showed Mr. Akin with a 1-point lead, inciting harsh criticism from Republicans, who called it a deliberate attempt by the left-leaning firm to keep Mr. Akin in the race rather than a scandal-free, and presumably stronger, candidate.

Other polls say that her lead is bigger by nine or ten points - this one is disputed at only a 1 point lead. It's hard to say, but he's definitely not a sure bet to lose.

I just saw one of his 'new' ads last night, I'm on the Kansas Side of the fence so we get some bleed over in ads.

"I made a 6 second mistake...but McCaskill is a 6 year mistake we need to fix!"

And it was mostly the Repub talking points that are utterly not true like the 700 billion MC Cuts ect. UGH

I can only hope the repeated 'this is a lie' news stories and ads can get the information through some thick heads.

And hello - that wasn't a 'sex second' mistake. That's a fundamental 'mistake' in ideology and attitude, and his weak 'i'm sorry' doesn't fix that.

I'm starting to believe they're trying to martyr Akin in order to drum up more support for him
