Huh, this is surprising. When the news of this initially broke, I legit thought he was bipolar and had a manic episode or something. I guess it was just a run-of-the-mill mid-life crisis/affair.

I don't see this lasting though. Relationships that start out as affairs have like a 3% chance of long-term success.

Yeah, I read it in "How to help your spouse heal from your affair" by Linda MacDonald. Excellent book.

I have honestly never seen this sort of thing work out. If you build your relationship on lies, hurt and deception, that's what you get back.

I had forgotten about him, but it also doesn't seem like three years ago that this happened. So many scandals makes time fly.

I guess this isn't surprising, but I think it's unfortunate that he couldn't make his marriage work for the sake of his children. I'm not a big fan of divorcing and re-marrying.
