Arizona governor signs law banning most late-term abortions

PHOENIX -- Arizona Republican Governor Jan Brewer signed into law on Thursday a controversial bill that bans most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy, giving Republicans a win in ongoing national efforts to impose greater restrictions on abortion.

Lovely. 24 hour waiting period for an abortion, but its legal to buy a gun and walk out the door with it as a concealed weapon!

I think they may have installed their laws backwards.

How can these idiots not understand that women having late-term abortions are not having them because they're fickle and changed their mind, they're having them because something has gone horribly wrong with their very much wanted pregnancy?

In some ways due to linguistics. Medically, there's no such thing as a "partial-birth abortion." It's done because there's something wrong with the pregnancy. However, that language helps them get these bills passed because "OMGZ Babbys! OMGZ Evil Sluts!"
