I'm surprised by how little coverage of the ongoing war in Syria there is in _p.
I've been seeing a fair amount of press coverage in fairly mainstream US sources (NBC, WaPo, Fox, etc. have all been covering developments in the country and wrt diplomatic relations/potential interventions with regularity). But it's sort of like, there's so much happening so quickly that it almost feels like it needs an info post more than regular posts?
I feel like I'm hearing about Syria daily on the CBC's The National. Tonight, there was a story about "Syrian Canadians who have been threatened for speaking out against President Bashar al-Assad." As I recall, a man protested in front of the Syrian embassy in Ottawa and his family in Syria received a warning the next day. Someone else said that happened to him. The journalist then talked to a rep for the Syrian gov't who said it was all lies, just like Amnesty International who makes things up. it starts at 25:00 (after countless ads)
