Because frankly, I don't think politicians who couldn't be bothered to do any more than sit in the Reserves should be allowed to say fuck-all about the military, either. (Then again, I don't think you should be allowed to vote in favor of going to war unless you HAVE BEEN IN A WAR, and by this I mean "boots on the ground, IN COUNTRY", not "i sat at the pentagon collecting Toys for Tots".)
