US Secretary of State Hilary Clinton addresses the UN in recognition of International Human Rights Day. It's 30 minutes long but honestly a very powerful speech. This is a great speech and I hope that someday it won't be necessary to say that "Gay rights are human rights, and human rights are gay rights."
It should be obvious to anyone.

I'm now curious to know how "extremist" will react to this amazing speech.

Didn't watch, but it sounds like a good speech. I'm glad that these are the steps that this administration is taking.

I agree with them general sentiment, but she does acknowledge in her speech that the US has a long way to go on this issue as well. I don't think the US should avoid stating their own view and encouraging others to stand up for human rights just because they don't have a perfect record themselves.

I watched this entire speech last night. I loved it. She was honest about America not having the greatest track record with equal rights but said that we struggle with righting our wrongs and that we're still struggling. I thought it was wonderful that such a powerful politician and recognizable face stated this to the entire world. Especially with the political climate of the country and the struggle of equal rights for the lbgt community. It's a powerful statement.
