That video is glorious. Cameron on his Tory yacht, Rupert and James Murdoch are apparently half-man half-fish...

Oh Rebekah, my heart is weeping for you.

God, this couldn't have happened to a more worthy bunch of scumbags. Comeuppance is a glorious thing.

1755: BBC's Radio 5 Live is told by an anonymous News of the World employee, who was at this afternoon's staff meeting, that Rebekah Brooks was confident and calm. The mood was not openly hostile, but there was anger among staff. Mrs Brooks apparently said the News of the World had to be shut down because there was worse to come. She dodged a question about resignation and suggested she was the best person to lead the company out of its current difficulties.

jeezo how much worse can it get.

At this point, I actually quite want her to stay. Because she will be arrested and questioned at some point, and how toxic will her presence then be to Rupert and NI. If she went now they could brush it all under the carpet and say they've gotten rid of who was responsible.

I don't think we've even heard the worst of this story yet. At the moment she's such a liability for Rupert Murdoch, and I'm all for giving him just enough rope to hang himself.

I think so too. They are either confident it will go away or arrogant enouh to believe it wont adversely affect them.

I read somewhere that if there's worst to come it might be a good move to have her stay now. If she did go, and something else came out there might be a push for James Murdoch to resign.

It's pretty rotten that NOtW staff who had zero to do with all this are paying the price when the likes of Brooks remains on.

That said, I am quite gleeful that this rag of a paper and Coulson have got their comeuppance.
Can the Daily Fail be next please???, pretty please!

Also ♥ The Guardian for keeping on with this story when everyone else was "meh" about hacking.

I don't think it's so much as being 'meh' about it, but more being shit scared because their just as guilty of underhand tactics. Makes me side eye the papers who have lacklustre reporting on this tbh.
