So is Google now the go-to defendant when you want to sue the internet?

Well you could try to sue Porn or 4chan, but I don't think that would go over well.

I know I'd sooner stick my genitalia into a rusted woodchipper than try to sue 4chan!

Huh? The source link links to this entry.

"I could understand if it was just a picture of the outside of the apartment, but showing a person's underwear hanging outside is absolutely wrong," said the woman. (...)

I don't think Google works the way she thinks it does.

I don't think LIFE works the way she thinks it does. o.O

idk how that happened but I'm 99% sure it wasn't like that when it was in the queue.

Until OP fixes it, here's a source: http://mdn.mainichi.jp/mdnnews/news/20101216p2a00m0na011000c.html

I just saw this on Japan_now.

I don't know what to say to this woman either, but what are her chances of getting help for this disorder in Japan?

Pretty good, I think. I mean, every citizen gets health care. The problem is getting people to actually go in and use it, either because of embarrassment of letting others in on their problems, or simply because it would require time off of work. Now that she has no job, she should probably spend the time in therapy. Reg

gah. Don't know why the 'a' key suddenly cause a post, but whatever.

*Regardless of what society thinks of laundry being hung outside, the fact is that many people hang their laundry outside depending on where in Japan you live. Also, the act of putting your clothes outside to dry might make them susceptible to theft by random undies-stealing weirdos, but I think most are too cowardly to commit a sex crime. Putting them outside means everyone walking by will see them. Get a grip.

I don't think Google works the way she thinks it does. Google didn't put the picture online. :/

Although it doesn't say so, I'm pretty sure the picture came from Google Streetview, soooo they are responsible for that part.

Since it doesn't say Google Streetview, I wouldn't assume it. Search any moderately well-known location in Google Maps and you'll find plenty of pictures taken and uploaded by users.

Also, I just realized the article doesn't even state that Google was hosting the image, only that a Google search for her address returned the image. So maybe she merely did a general Google search and it turned up an image on an independent website that Google had absolutely nothing to do with.

I do feel bad for her but legally it doesn't really seem like she has a case.
