Yeah--it's common in Japan to hang your laundry out to dry on your veranda.

Sorry, but in the US, Google does not owe her anything (beyond the fact that they didn't post the picture). The standard for something like this, if it caused harm, was what a reasonable or reasonably prudent person would experience, not someone with extreme mental illness.

If she's hanging up her undies outside, other people are going to see them. I don't know why she hasn't thought of that before.

This. I mean, this kind of seems like a "no duh" to me.

The story doesn't say if this is "Streetview" or not. It certainly sounds like that since she mentions her address was there.

I'm not sure where she stands on this. They try to black out license plates and faces but ... um a bad laundry day. I dunno.

There are a number of blogs devoted to embarrassing, interesting, etc photos from Street View. And Google has taken care to remove them when complained about.

I wonder if she bothered to contact Google and request it be removed?

Side story:

Who else here surfs random locations on "Street View" to go on cyber-vacation? I spent three hours cyber-walking back alleys in Bath England one day. Oh, how I want to travel the world soooo bad.

I retraced my wandering around Paris through Street View. It's one of my favourite online time wasters.

Wandering around in Street View is how I never get lost. I can spend hours on Google Maps, just looking at stuff.
