I live in Bradford. I was so, so scared for the city today, wondering if there was going to be another 2001. Thank god there wasn't, and also that so many people joined together to show the EDL that they are not wanted.

I also love the coach driver's comment, lol.

I'm assuming you're referring to the Brixton riots? Because if so, not really.

Yeah, all the Brixton riots were ethnic riots.

"The protest was organised by people from all walks of life, all religions and faiths - even the local Sikhs and Hindus were concerned. It wasn't a far-right protest. Although they might have been utilising the situation they were nothing to do with us. We are opposed to extremism on both sides of the political agenda."

Because there is a rich history of Hindus not acting like total douchecanoes when it comes to Islam (if these EDL supporting Hindus exist in the first place). I say this as someone who's Hindu, just, no. Either way, you're still racist pricks.

I am honestly not sure how much more of racist fail I can take. =/

God, I hate these wankers. Dress it up all you like, you're still wankers.

Notice they're all men, too. I find that very telling.

A riot is no place for a woman, you know. Not when there's washing up to be done and sandwiches to be made.

/ sarcasm.

Yes, comparison with the list of organisations involved in the peace vigil is interesting in that regard: http://www.hopenothate.org.uk/blog/article/811/Bradford-Together-Peace-Vigil

One of the coach drivers said: "I didn't expect a job like this when I came to work this morning. We're a five-star firm. We don't usually take scumbags like these." this. exactly.

The EDL are scum. That's the only way one could possibly describe them. And when these scumbags throw bricks and smokebombs and racial insults around in the name of "England", it makes me distinctly not proud to be English.

"[The EDL are...]people from all walks of life, all religions and faiths..." Nope. Sorry. Just seeing a bunch of angry white skinheads there. These dickheads are the terrorists and militants, not the vast, vast majority of the Muslim population that they're attacking here. Eurgh. Scum.
