Also:

"This is a tangible threat to the Jewish and democratic character of the state of Israel," he said.

You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Its never been fantastic, but Netanyahu is from what I know, Israel's version of Bush. Very much a xenophobic, war loving, intolerant jackass.

Lol, sorry about that.

Basically, yes. There were a infinite number of problems (and shitty things being done) but according to my cousins there was a general feeling of moving forward (and hope that it would keep moving that way) in Israel with the pull back in Gaza, and the more left of the parties winning more seats. However the center-left couldn't pull together a coalition, and then Likud (Netanyahu's party) seemed to really fuck up a lot of shit worse than I thought possible. But that's just from what I know.

also responding to this, heh. i'm not anti-zionist but i resent the fact that israeli groups participate in stuff (like the toronto pride parade) with signs that say "human rights leader in the middle east" which basically are meant to shame other middle eastern countries for being discriminatory theocracies. it's kind of hard to take that sort of thing seriously to begin with, but this is just... yeah.
