I'm seriously raging at the people in my life right now.

I keep spamming my fb wall with links and info (thanks OP) and everyone is like OMG STOP PLZ. No bitch. Most of you ignorant asshats work at Red Lobster. This will affect you more than you realize.

And I gave my mom the sideeye this morning. I was trying to explain to her how big of a deal this is, and she goes 'OH NO WHAT ABOUT OUR CRUISE? (to the keys and cozumel) DO YOU THINK IT WILL BE ALL CLEANED UP BY JULY?'

Every time I see something about this I feel a little more horrified. I've only been to Orange Beach, AL but... then I think if something like this ever happened to the Northern Neck and I'd be downright devastated... and it's so, so much less of an area than the Gulf Coast.

And I am also frustrated because even though Obama's done a lot more than his predecessor in a lot shorter of a time, he is still going to get raked over the coals for this. :/

He was just a few weeks earlier proposing that we ramp up the offshore drilling though. And then this happened. :)

Just because Obama's doing better than his predecessor doesn't mean that he's all that great himself. It's a step up but we can surely push for better and expect more instead of needing to make concessions.

~That said~, the disaster relief they're going with here is awfully good, and it's nice to see the government actually respond to shit going bad.

Oh I don't disagree at all that this is... not sure of a good PC word for it, but very much a certain amount of "You STILL think this is a good idea?!" (I also started calling it the ShinRa Effect from FF7 because if there is ever a sign that your source of fuel is going to kick you in the face...)

I just hope that people DO recognize it as needing improvements, instead of just "RARGH YOUR FAULT"

I really wish this could be used to smack the head of people who object to wind power farms because they look unattractive. You know what else looks unattractive? This does.
