Even education loans! People can still take out private loans to fund their education, just not the government-subsidised kind.

I just heard the argument that this will lead to the government telling students where they can attend college. Never minds that the government already guarantees all loans, the change will just have the government also finance and administer them, and that the government disburses all Pell Grants, and that hasn't led to the government telling people where they can attend.

I wish our government was this cool for students. As it is, I'm going to Uni in two years, and they're all talking about sending the fees sky-high. Given that this is the generation that didn't have to pay tuition fees and got government grants all over the place, can we say HYPOCRISY?

Here to say Sallie Mae is evil. I was forced to get a last minute private loan for school this year and they charge me a fucking arm and a leg monthly. In addition, they send my grandparents (my cosigners) confusing letters every month that make it seem like they have to make my payments. I'm enrolled in automatic payments. They get my damn money. Stop harassing my grandparents, assholes.
