That the Hispanic vote helped Obama to win electoral votes in such "gringo" territories as Nebraska and Indiana is a reminder that there are Hispanics everywhere now;

They are everywhere! Be afraid!

I just found it really funny that they are referring to Hispanics as like a panic.

~They are everywhere now.~

Hah. Nate's scenario is pretty wildly unlikely. I am not worried.

Meanwhile, to my Hispanic friends: WELCOME TO THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY! ILU!!

Been ever since I was able to think for myself, fo'sho. Thankfully both my Puerto Rican parents are so liberal they bleed rainbows and fabulous unicorns.

Hahaha, sounds like my family. Except the Puerto Rican part. One time I went to visit my mom and she went to Wal-Mart and I was like "MOM! WAL-MART?!?" and she made me swear not to tell the rest of the family.

Isn't it wonderful to come from good liberal folk?

Srsly. Conservatives/Repubs/Libertarians, I would like to study them. Living zealot-religious, and ~*~Straight-red blooded Amuricans~*~ would be the death of me.

Generalization, possibly. But I don't think I'd say those were completely off-base. Lol.

Tommy Thompson experimental phase

We where just curious is all..

I kinda see his point in Indiana (which was very close) and Arizona (because it was the home state) but Nate's throwing around some pretty crazy stuff. I mean sure it was 10 points, but Minnesota, let alone Wisconsin and Michigan, going to Republicans? They'd need to pull a pretty impressive rabbit out of their hats for that when they couldn't win against a candidate as weak as Kerry. Not to mention they're going to have a harder time just by the fact Obama's an incumbent.

I think we hadn't figured out he was the crazy type of Repub, instead of the semi-sane kind they used to breed up in Wisconsin.

"KKK-Latino-Illegal-Alien-Terrorist"

Sadly, that is BARELY a paraphrase of what the GOP has been saying. LOL

That kind of lunacy makes me want to punch shit. Or laugh. But definitely, 'punching shit.'

Hee, we just had a mayoral race in Omaha and the Republican campaigned on bigotry: a commercial narrated by breathless, frightened woman intoning, "Illeagal immigrants are taking your jobs... crowding you out of emergency rooms... overtaxing your police force... Hal Daub will fight illegal immigrants..."

The Democratic candidate kicked his ass. :D

That's really what the ad said? Wow...that's just...

I mean, usually the GOP candidate tries to disguise the outright bigotry with subtle, underlying imagery. That's about the most blatant I have heard an ad being.

What was his name? I kind of want to see if this ad is on youtube.

Hal Daub was responsible for the ad -- a former mayor of Omaha running for the office again as a Republican. Jim Suttle, the Dem, defeated him and is now the mayor elect.

I knew no evil of Hal Daub before that (he was before my time here), but even if I weren't a stone Democrat I wouldn't have voted for Daub after seeing that ad. It was absolutely disgusting.

Thanks!

Just looked at his ad and, yeah, he's a slimy scapegoater. Glad to hear he lost :o)
