2. If this ban was so important, why aren't countries like Saudi Arabia on it? - Oh, yeah, Trump business locations.
He's just getting started, folks. I'm sure he's got much more in mind.

(not saying the list should exist at all, but if this really were about protecting the US from terrorism, then Saudi Arabia should be one of the first countries to look at. But then Saudi Arabia is a rich ally with oil interests so...)

So my brother had to cancel our annual family reunion in the UAE (where my parents live) because he's a green card holder and he doesn't want to take any chances by leaving the US, even though he isn't Muslim and the UAE isn't on the list. He's afraid they'll take the banning further while he's gone and he won't be let back in.
A lot of my high school friends in the US have family in the ME and/or are Muslim, and I am scared for all of them, and everyone else affected by this. I donated today to CAIR, and wanted to for ACLU as well but couldn't find a way to do it through Paypal. I'm just.... so sad and angry and scared right now.
Edit: Just editing to clarify, obviously my family's situation is nowhere near as horrific as many others, especially those in the states on the list. I just.. haven't seen my brother since my graduation last summer and I miss him and I'm scared they'll find a way to deport him or something.

I am not American and would like to donate via PayPal to CAIR but their main site appears to be down or blocked for me. Do you think donating to the MN branch would help?

Yeah, I've been vocal about it all day because I'm so frustrated. The ban got a mention here and there in my country but it's Lunar New Year + our own country's politics is basically a shitstorm as well, so it gets buried by all the local news :(
And yes, my brother has had bad experiences with visas in the past (he was once denied a student visa because the immigration officer at the embassy accused him of sounding "too American" and that meant he was going to end up being an illegal immigrant in the US) and the stamp they use at passport control in the UAE is mostly in Arabic, and that's all some people need lbr..
https://www.cair.com/donations/general-donation/campaign/#/donationDoes this link work for you? If not, I think donating to any branch of CAIR will help tbh because they're going to need it.

I am shocked that American conservatives and even a few moderates are okay with this. I have been shaking in anxiety most of the weekend. I don't know what to do.
