okay, this is making me laugh. i will take my schadenfreude wherever i can get it, because the rest of the time i'm reading news stories and thinking "my nine-year-old nephew could speak more coherently and think more carefully than this fucker."

ugh. dreading january. i can't believe this is actually happening. (which has pretty much been the single thought on repeat since election night.)

There is nothing funny having a 9 year old having access to the nuclear codes.

It would be just like when Mr. Burns has the Ramones play at his birthday. "Mike Pence, have Girl Talk killed."

Wow, good for her! Thanks for sharing this.

I wonder if more choir members will follow her example now. Sometimes it just takes one person taking a stand to get a particular ball rolling, so you never know. I'll be watching this story with great interest.

I definitely agree with what she said about how performing for Trump could "severely damage" the "image and networking" of the LDS Church. I know that's something they take seriously, so perhaps the higher ups will realize how bad of an idea this is in time for the choir to back out of this commitment.

Not surprising. The Mormon church isn't a big fan of philanderers, and Clinton actually won the Salt Lake City metro area by a massive margin.

I don't know the exact details, but Romney trying to get into Trump's cabinet had probably as much to do with saving us from World War III as trying to further his career.

Yeah. I don't like Romney, but as far as Republicans go, he'd probably have been one of the less awful cabinet members we could have had. Too bad it didn't work out. TBH, if I were in his position, I'd do a lot of crow-eating and groveling just to get the job for the express purpose of trying to minimize the damage.
