You know, I remember learning about this kind of thing in middle-school social sciences classes, and my conservative Christian parents distinctly did *not* throw an epic shit-fit about it. All these non-PC types are awfully sensitive.

Pretty much the same with my parents. My mom was like well is that the assignment? And I told her yes and she told me to do it and that's all there was to it.

We learned about Islam in our social studies classes but that was pre-9/11 (which shows how old I am oop)

I'm trying to recall when we learned about different faiths. I wanna say it was 7th grade too pfft. Though in my case I was literally in 7th grade when 9/11 happened so..actually was probably /better/ to teach us more then so we didn't turn into intolerant assholes

Right? Sometimes I wonder how different it would be nowadays. Although I was in 8th grade when sept 11th happened, and we still learned about Islam in high school here and there with no issue. Country conservative school too.
