We learned about Islam in our social studies classes but that was pre-9/11 (which shows how old I am oop)

I'm trying to recall when we learned about different faiths. I wanna say it was 7th grade too pfft. Though in my case I was literally in 7th grade when 9/11 happened so..actually was probably /better/ to teach us more then so we didn't turn into intolerant assholes

Right? Sometimes I wonder how different it would be nowadays. Although I was in 8th grade when sept 11th happened, and we still learned about Islam in high school here and there with no issue. Country conservative school too.

I'm...pretty sure we covered different religions in some class, but I have to say, honestly, I don't remember when or which class.

But 7th grade for me was 1979-1980. So.

I think it comes with timing/age. I know we didn't learn anything about Islam when I was in junior high but then, the September when I was in 7th grade marked the 1 year anniversary of 9/11 so yeah...honestly, it was super conservative rural school district so they probably avoided the topic because the memories of 9/11 were still so new and fresh.
