I wonder what they do with them too because while trying to find to find the cheapest but still of good quality pencils I don't think I say any real option to purchase used color pencils.
Plenty options for used coloring books (one of which I bought) but no pencils.
My grandparents never owned a pencil sharpener. They used knives. Every pencil on the place would have a weird, blunted end, never pointy like you get from a sharpener.
I'm an artist and I definitely say avoid sharpeners where possible. They're very good at removing far too much color medium, breaking tips and don't give you a good point. ESPECIALLY on prismacolor pencils, which are rather soft (probably because they have more color than filler in their 'lead' vs crayola which has a shitton of filler and makes it denser but very poor quality). I use my exacto knife. It gives me a good point without wasting a lot of pencil 'lead'. Prismas are expensive- not wasting anything is important!
I got this Dot to Dot book at Sam's Club and yeah. I love it but I fucking hate it. They really really needed to rethink how they placed the dots. Fuck some of them I think share the same dot. I really should have gotten a coloring book instead but the only ones I liked were the Harry Potter and the Animorphia books. The fact that I found a Game of Thrones coloring book while there left me feeling sorry for the poor parent who decided that THAT would be an okay coloring book for their kiddo. It wasn't bad just really detailed to an extreme on some pages.

I thought this would be an easy thing to buy but I had to try three different stores before finding them at Publix and Publix only had FOUR in stock.
I began to wonder what people do with their pencils. Do they just throw them away or get out their boxcutter or what?
