Dolores Huerta slams Sanders; Bern Victims Question Her Record as an Activist

Mar 25, 2016 20:45

If you’ve been following the Democratic primary, you may have noticed that Bernie Sanders has positioned himself as a champion of the immigrant community. From the letter he sent to Barack Obama last week, to the work he, his campaign, and surrogates have done attacking other candidates’ positions, you would think that he has been a lifelong ( Read more... )

Insults and slander are not intended to convince people to support Clinton but to discourage them from supporting Sanders. This is the negative campaigning that diminishes voting numbers, which is the goal of both major political establishments, and why the Democrats have barely gone through the motions of caring about Republican voter supression. Keep it up. Maybe I'll have given up by November and decide to not bother with voting. It won't matter in my red, red state as far as electoral votes go, and who really cares about state and local elections? Not national Democrats, that's for damn sure. For all the criticism of Sanders for not campaigning for other candidates, I sure don't see Clinton giving a damn about them either.

She'd raised about 30 million for down tickets in February, i don't know how much it is now. The most important thing for them is the money, in addition, when she goes to their districts they are with her, which lets them be known to the public. Bernie is a one man army...one man revolution.

she raises this money through courting lobbyists and corporations though? like i definitely agree bernie should do more to support down-ticket progressives, but he has to use his funds to compete with her pacs.

Hillary's Pac only spent about 5 million at the beginning of the campaign, they've most of their money for the GE. The rest of the spending has come from money Hillary has raised herself, not the pacs. The pacs haven't bothered with Bernie that much since just after New Hampshire. He's out spent her in most states too.

She hasn't been able to rely on the PAC for the primaries. they said they are focusing on the GE. So even that excuse doesn't fly. But even if he isnt raising money(which he should) at least find like minded candidates to endorse. Hillary doesn't have to do this because its most of the DNC already, all they have to do is appear with her at their states etc.

this post is incredibly outdated, juvenile and pointlessly aggressive for no damn reason. people need to stop treating this election like a stan war.

If you think about the sociological impetus and effect of stan wars, there hasn't been an American contested election that wasn't one.

Wow. How the Bernie supporters here are going *nuts* over the article title and whaa whaaa'ing about an unflattering or unfavorable article about Mr. Sanders.....

But not one comment actually mentions the subject of the article or addresses it's actual points. Wow.

Then why not just say so and link it? The comments here are bordering on hysterical in their outrage. It's amusing.

But yes - more importantly, in my mind (as I don't think anyone is going to change who they are voting for at this point) - is talk about other elections, such as senate and congress, and how the voting and electing process is amazingly fucked up.

Let's focus on how Bernie supporters and Hillary supporters act on here. Because this is where we are commenting.

THANK YOU. I am tired of being "held to task" about Bernie supporters that I have absolutely nothing to do with because I don't even know how to use reddit, let alone want anything to do with the misogynist losers who hang out there.

I know exactly what you mean, and I feel the same way about the complaints about Hillary supporters and how we all supposedly do horrible things. I haven't personally done 1/10 of the things that people are complaining about, but just about every time I come here, I end up feeling like I'm being accused of stuff I've never done. And I don't know what to do about it, because trying to say anything about it just seems to make matters worse.

When it comes down to it, ALL I want--and I want this VERY badly--is for the Hillary and Bernie factions here in this comm to just stop being dicks to each other, here in this comm. ALL of us, on both sides. I know people are being even more dickish elsewhere on the net, but that doesn't make it okay or mean we have to sink to the same level here at ontd-p.
