She's a vet all right--an Iraq War vet who lost both legs in combat. She's also been heavily involved with veterans affairs in civilian life. She served as Asst. Sec. for Public and Intergovernmental Affairs in the US Dept of Veterans Affairs from 2009 2011, and as the Director of the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs from 2006 until February 2009.

Good question, and I don't know the answer! (And like you, I could see myself voting for her for POTUS, so it would be nice to know.
