No shit. I live in a state where ALL judges are appointed, so it was a bit of a shock to learn in high school that there are some states that elect judges. I thought the whole point of an independent judiciary was to have a deliberative body not subject to political whims.

You're bound to uphold ALL of the Constitution, including the part that states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion." The Ten Commandments belong in churches and synagogues, not public buildings.
