Roy Moore: Legalizing gay marriage would rank among US Supreme Court's greatest mistakesAs the days and hours ticked by until gay and lesbian couples began lining up for marriage licenses at Alabama courthouses, state Chief Justice Roy Moore said he kept waiting for someone to try to stop it ( Read more... )

He moved because it was inevitable -- the entire stand was showboating for his supporters. So yeah, here's to Moore doing the same.

Is there a Republican office-holder who did *not* perjure himself when he put his hand on the Bible and swore to uphold and defend the Constitution?

When two bisexuals or two transgendered marry, how large is that family? Can they marry two persons, one of the same sex and one of the opposite sex? Then, you've got a family of four or how many?

Because, as we all know, cis-gendered heterosexuals are only ever attracted to or in love with one person in their entire lives and are always monogamous. Being bisexual means you want one of each, and all transgendered people are bisexual. Also, family means two, and no more than two.

This quote... I've been staring at this quote and blinking all morning. Moore's intellect is truly dizzying.

When two people marry, there are two people in the partnership. It's limited to two by definition. We have a different name for relationships involving more than two people.

A person is still one person whether they are cis-gendered and straight or elsewhere on the spectrum.

As if there weren't enough reasons already, Roy gives another good reason to be ashamed of my state. Ignorant asshole.

"Roy Moore's actions have made us look like the most homophobic state in the nation."

That's right, Roy. There are other states that deserve that title more than your state.

I'll concede that Cohen was guilty of a little bit of hyperbole (not that I blame him under the circumstances).

If one wants to get technical about this, there are probably a bunch of states that would be pretty closely tied for the "most homophobic" title, and since most of the counties in AL DO seem to be complying with the law and issuing licenses to same sex couples, its homophobia score is probably lower than some states at the moment.

But even if AL isn't THE most homophobic state, it certainly does seem to have the most homophobic blowhard of a Chief Justice!

I was just going to say, isn't Kansas making that tough competition?

Brownback and his cronies are doing their best to turn Kansas into a shining 'Repubutopian' beacon of questionable Evangelical Christian morality, willful ignorance, bigotry, and self-serving greed for the rest of the world to see and admre. It's a tough race to the bottom, but Kansas seems to be edging out it's competitors.
