"It was a huge duck! It was scary. I’m a woman. It scared me. It was a huge duck."

Came here to quote this (it's SUCH a brilliant quote) and to ask if that woman is aware of the fact that people dress up as all kinds of shit without actually *becoming* whatever they're dressed up as...

Every sentence adds a layer of ridiculousness. I'm cross-stitching it onto a pillow.

The motorists who passed the undercover cop dressed as Donald Duck without yielding were later directed to pull over by uniformed police officers in order to receive the tickets for their moving violations.

Slightly disappointed (but understandable) that it wasn't Donald writing the tickets.

they do this out here in Cali, too, but I've never seen a Donald duck costume. I wonder how well it would work out here. the other day I almost pulled a woman's top off trying to pull her back onto the sidewalk as she was trying to cross the street because she stepped out in front of a car that didn't stop. it was embarrassing but she would've been hit if I didn't. D: even when you look the driver in the eyes, wait for them to stop for you!

As a pedestrian I always operate on the assumption that if the driver isn't looking directly at me or doesn't wave me on that they don't see me. I know cars need to yield to pedestrians in crosswalks but too many people just step out in front of cars who can't stop quickly enough because they think "right of way" means "I don't have to watch where I'm going."

On my way to work I walk on a crosswalk in the middle of the block, and it's amazing how many people don't understand what a crosswalk means. I'll only step out if it's clear, but as it's a 4 lane road it's easy for cars to turn and pass over the crosswalk before a person can finish walking. They think it's like an intersection (where if the motorist has the right of way, pedestrians shouldn't try to cross).

Same here, when I used to run and bike around the neighborhood back home I always used a rule of 'the driver needs to look me in the eyes and acknowledge me before I try to cross'

He'll, I've had way too many near hits(and one actual when the car came out of nowhere around a corner at a crosswalk in the neighborhood) even with this method.

I would totally stop for a duck! A goose might be another story...

Our local cops do the black hoodie thing and wear that when they are doing crosswalk stings.

Do you share my loathing of geese? I honk at them when they get in front of my car. They turn around and honk back!!
