Despite the skepticism expressed in previous replies, I think these are very interesting developments, and possibly very significant ones. Enough so that I already posted an article describing the contents of the document itself. Obviously, some people will not give any fucks, and I can certainly understand that. However, the Catholic Church is not going away, and this IS a distinct change in tone, which, imo, can only be a positive thing.

No, it's not enough. It's just a start. But a 2000 year old institution is not going to change overnight, and any change has to start SOMEWHERE.

I admit to being impressed by this Pope. As much as he can within existing doctrine, he seems to be sincere. I will never agree with Catholic doctrine, but he seems to be refocusing on the good aspects of being a Christian -the charity and love thy neighbor stuff more than the fire and brimstone.
