Bill O’Reilly - Jesus is not ‘down with’ food stamps because most poor people are drug addicts

Dec 04, 2013 20:14

No one knows what Jesus would do to feed today’s poor, hungry Americans - but Fox News host Bill O’Reilly is pretty sure the Christian savior wouldn’t be “down with” giving them food stamps because it’s “their fault.”After Rep. Yeah, when Jesus did that fishes and loaves thing, he made it explicitly clear to his disciples that only the rich could have the food, not to give it to the poor because it's their fault they are poor.

wait....

nononono.. When he did the fishes and loaves thing, he made it clear that only HE could feed poor people. So since he died, everyone else is fucked.

... Bill O'Reilly literally does not know the first thing about Jesus, does he? And I say this as a non-Christian.

Au contraire, he has claimed Jesus speaks directly to him. So obvs he knows better than the rest of us!

Aw, and here I thought Jesus kinda gave a shit about the poor and downtrodden. Disappointed in you, Jesus.

"The Fox News host acknowledged that Christ would have fed the poor, but objected to the idea that he would have “hurt” richer Americans to help feed them."

You can't make up this kind of evil. But I do believe that Jesus fellow didn't take too kindly to the wealthy...

"Again I tell you, it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God" (Matthew 19:24)

"Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’" Matthew 25:34-40

What you do to the least of the world, you do to God.

Those were EXACTLY the points I was going to make. As an agnostic. Who apparently knows Christianity better than Bill O'Reilly.

Food stamps are not about hurting the rich. Good grief, the little the very rich pay in taxes is atrocious.

Jesus would have been about people OFFERING AID AND COMFORT to the poor on their own (because it's the right thing to do), rather than having the government need to step in to keep people from falling through the cracks. But given that this voluntary charity is insufficient, the government does what it should and must.

Bill O'Reilly is such a pig. :(
