“My parents didn’t make a lot of money and they were able to put food on the table,” O’Reilly grumbled.

Bill O'Reilly likes to say this. It's not true. He's from one of the most affluent communities on Long Island. There were no poor people where he grew up.

yep. and his dad was an account who made $30,000 in the 50s and 60s, both Bill and his sister went to private schools, and Bill went to a private college on his dad's dime. i don't know how he gets away with this salt of the earth, working class kinda guy BS.

Yeah, 30K was a very comfortable income in the 50s and 60s! Probably the equivalent of well over 100K in today's money.

Fucking hypocrite.

Apparently this is a thing among straight white males, i.e. getting away with blatant "populist" lies and deception. Ask Toronto mayor, Rob Ford.

“With all due respect, there’s a lot of misconceptions in what you just said,”

Actually, there are so many misconceptions, omissions, and outright lies in those statements that one would be better served by trying to pick out what is accurate (which is nothing) rather than what is inaccurate.

Some how, I don't think that giving up some money to help out another qualifies as "hurt"....except in Bill's mind. Because there should be no charity.

This.

My thought to that statement was: Ok, so the children of addicts don't deserve to eat? Isn't that even MORE of a reason for the state to step in and make sure the children are fed? WTF, Bill?

he claims some of the charities he gives to gives money directly to children and not their no good drug addicted parents. that makes no sense. does he give to charities that provide services to some special charity that hands out meals to kids only. i don't understand.
