Toronto Mayor Rob Ford is getting a reality TV show
"Rob is like Howard Stern or Rush Limbaugh," said brother Doug Ford

In line with the modern world’s twisted obsession with the tragic downfall of public figures, Toronto Mayor Rob Ford - who recently admitted to smoking crack-cocaine in a “drunken stupor,” who was caught on video threatening to ( Read more... )

Sun News Network? The one without enough listeners or advertisers ( so I heard) that they were begging the CRTC for some kind of extra special treatment? ( extra funding subsidy or some such?)

I still find it questionable that a sitting politician and his bro can have a show and have it not fall under issues related to electioneering and campaigning. The stuff they said on that show was just completely indicative of the contempt they feel for just about everyone.

Sun News Network, aka Fox News North.

Yeah, and they were this close to getting that special extra treatment. Pretty sure that didn't happen, but they'll probably try again...

i thought Faux News North would have been all about those evil government types/do it ourselves but I guess when it's them in play, it's ok to beg for money/access.

I don't have cable/radio/TV or whatever they were planning to broadcast on but last I'd heard they were struggling financially.

Sucks when their private market! yay! doesn't work in their favor, huh?

Pretty sure they were trying pretty hard to inject media poison into our culture, anyway. I think they had a reality show revolving around deporting illegal immigrants. Like, following cops who bust into the lives of families and separate them from each other...

Right, because it's cool to normalize this repugnant behavior. Who needs morals and ethics when you can get sweet ratings.

Being compared to Howard Stern or Rush Limbaugh. What a recommendation.

His entire family, including his knuckle-dragging goon of a brother, are a pack of delusional enablers; totally not shocked that he'd compare his brother to Limbaugh as if it were a good thing.

Yeah, I've been wondering if Doug Ford will be affected by this.

Well good thing I hate and have nothing to do with Sun media. Go figure those Neanderthals hooked up with that bullshit station.

Is it just me, or is anyone else getting sick of stories about this guy?

It's not just you. Try being subscribed to the "Toronto Star" and having all other important news shafted (e.g., disaster in Philippines) for 15 page spreads about Rob Ford every day since the scandal broke.

I wouldn't be surprised, they're so fucking smug. It's been the same 3-4 writers everyday writing about Ford. They've been on his ass since day one waiting for him to fail. It's ridiculous.
