You know if I was a worker and I saw shrubs that looked well maintained, I don't think I'd touch them. I mean, this guy had to walk up to them, even from the side he could probably tell they spelt something or were shaped unusually. Were the work details he was giving really freaking vague? Something like 'everything must be cut down' or the like and he followed them to a T?
