my mom, thankfully, was only furloughed for a few days. however, since she works at the lab, they had to shut down the super computers, the lasers, etc which make hundreds of thousands of dollars per second and it takes about two days to boot it all up. so the lab lost millions in just a few days.

she doesn't work with the super computers or the lasers. she's a computer engineer and I know she used to work in global security, but I don't think she does anymore

They were at my school's career fair and I was all "do you have any positions for chemists?" and they were like "only internships" and I was all :(((((((((((((( because I had graduated by then and they don't give graduates internships also they really only want people with PhDs.
