The 16-day government shutdown is officially over, and Vice President Joe Biden was busy making the rounds Wednesday morning, welcoming federal workers back to work. And he did it with food, the ultimate peace offering/good gesture/way to fix almost anything.

Biden stopped at the Environmental Protection Agency with multiple containers of muffins. And not just any muffins ... they're mini.

In the photo above, Biden is seen carrying the muffins while excited onlookers take pictures, clap and cheer. The woman in the red suit looks like she may be the happiest woman alive and is probably hoping those muffins are banana chocolate chip. The man holding his suit lapels appears to be thinking, "Yeah. That's right. Muffins." And the man directly behind Biden with part of his face hidden is probably just worried the VP is going to run out before he can get one.

And considering that Biden had four boxes of mini-muffins and 15,000 EPA workers were furloughed, that's a legitimate fear. Let's hope they all didn't want one. (Biden was heard to say, "I didn't bring enough muffins.")

No word on where the mini muffins came from, but it's a well known fact that Biden likes to shop at Costco.
