Stuff like this really, really makes me hate Christianity. Fuck that stupid religion. It's just an excuse to be an asshole when logical reasons for whatever stupid opinion they have don't exist.

Fuckin' plus one. If they keep going at this rate, I'm going to wish the USA would show them some actual goddamn persecution.

Get me a Coliseum, some weapons, and some angry tigers. We can watch these awful fucks fight to the death. Or get their heads eaten.

THIS, this, this. I'm sick to fucking death of Xians and, frankly, anybody who thinks their beliefs trumps everyone else.

"A few months ago I reminded this House that we put our hands on the Bible and swore to uphold the Constitution, not the other way around."

I want these words carved into the wall of every legislative building in this country.

I want the Bible banned from all legislative buildings. :/

I would have a hard time shedding too many tears if that happened. Might be the only way to get certain legislators to stop thinking it's source material.

Yeah, I just don't get it. It's not a Theocracy, and there are so many people who aren't Christians, so swearing on the Bible should have zero impact on them (in terms of giving them a bad conscience in case they're lying or whatever). I mean, if someone told me to swear on the Bible I'd just be like "dude, I'm an atheist, I don't care about this random book of yours; I'd feel about as obligated to tell the truth as if you'd let me swear on the Twilight books".

Religion has absolutely no place in a courtroom, and it just honestly baffles me that in this day and time, where we - at least on paper - have a clear separation of law/state and church, people still get away with this shit without repercussions.

Excuse you, God's laws are only applicable in Godislavikistan. We live in America. We follow America's laws. kthxbye.

My spellcheck isn't flagging Godislavikistan and that's kind of creeping me out.

No. Hell no. Considering some of the shit that has come out of Republicans' mouths in various state chambers recently, they are the ones that need to SFTU.
