Before a packed chamber and gallery, state Sen. Wendy Davis began a dramatic filibuster Tuesday morning designed to block passage of a controversial and politically charged anti-abortion bill.

These stories about back-alley abortions and women who've died... I want to cry, from sadness over lives lost and out of frustration that these white cis men think they have any goddamn right to dictate what someone else does with her body.

Odd question. Because she can only speak about this bill can she just repeat the same thing over and over again if she starts running out of notes? Because right now it sounds like she's reading emails/letters she's been sent. Could she re-read those later?

Not sure how it goes with the Texas constitution but at the federal level you can read recipes or recite Shakespeare if you so chose. It doesn't matter what you say as long as you keep talking.
