Huh, and here I thought that the enlightenment and its philosophies helped give rise to modern democracy and, y'know, the fucking movement for America to be independent. Because clearly Washington and the others clearly missed the memo of divine right, and that means they totally took God out of the equation! AND THEN LOOK WHAT HAPPENED.
